What's new

LatestVersion 3.5
  • Linux version: the Pokédex now runs on Linux too, with packages for Arch (CachyOS, Manjaro…) and Debian (Ubuntu, Mint…). It has a menu entry and updates itself the same way.

Getting started

  1. Download it above, then right-click Pokedex.zip → Properties → tick Unblock → OK, then Extract All.
  2. Open Pokedex.exe. If Windows says “Windows protected your PC”, click More info → Run anyway.
  3. Run Create shortcuts.cmd for Desktop and Start Menu shortcuts.

Staying up to date

  1. The Pokédex checks for new versions by itself.
  2. When one's out, click ⬆ Update now in the bar at the top (or ⚙ Settings → App updates).
  3. It downloads only what changed and restarts — your settings, favourites, caught list and teams stay.

Earlier versions

Version 3.4
  • Updates itself: the Pokédex checks its website for a newer version. When there is one, a bar at the top shows what's new and ⬆ Update now downloads just the files that changed, installs them and restarts (⚙ Settings → App updates has it too, with Check now).
  • Your settings, favourites, caught list and teams are kept through updates.
Version 3.3
  • The row of tabs is now one section menu: the button shows where you are, and clicking it lists every section with a short description (arrow keys and Esc work too).
Version 3.2
  • Moves & Abilities tab: find any move by name, type, category, power or effect (Heals, Goes first, Can burn…) and any ability, with every Pokémon that learns or has it. Moves and abilities on Pokémon pages link straight there.
  • Dex number jump: type a number like 25 in any search box and press Enter to open that Pokémon.
  • ⚙ More filters on the Pokémon tab: minimum stats, resists / immune to / not weak to a type, learns a move, has an ability, egg group and legendary.
  • ← Back on Pokémon and item pages (also Alt+← or your mouse's back button), 📌 Pin a Pokémon to the corner, and 📋 Copy its details for chat.
  • Settings → Open on → Where I left off reopens the last tab and page, and a tip appears at start-up (can be turned off).
Version 3.1
  • The header fits small windows: the title keeps its width, What's new and Search history sit above the settings card, and that block moves under the title when there isn't room.
  • Tabs and the game switch wrap neatly instead of crowding.
Version 3.0
  • Spawns tab — “What spawns here?”: pick a biome (like Bamboo Jungle), time and weather to see every Pokémon that can spawn there, rarest last. In the Pokémon games it's “What can I catch here?” by game and place.
  • ★ Favourites: star Pokémon and items; they're listed first on the All tab.
  • ◓ Caught tracker: tick Pokémon as caught, see your living-dex progress, and filter by “Not caught yet” or “Spawns in” a biome on the Pokémon tab.
  • Battle tab: a team builder (weaknesses, coverage and suggestions), compare up to 3 Pokémon, a stat calculator and a natures chart.
  • Every Pokémon page now has a full move list (level-up, TM, egg and tutor) with type, power, accuracy and PP, plus ability descriptions.
  • Data updates (⚙ Settings): tells you when Cobblemon, Pixelmon or PokeAPI has new data, and can rebuild it.
  • Share your setup (⚙ Settings): save your theme to a file or a code for friends, and load theirs.
